Event Hack: Getting more out of your offline event or exhibitions
In my last article, I mentioned a way to get event registrations without spending any monies on media ads. This article goes into getting more out of the offline event you might be attending as an attendee or exhibitor.
Are you heading to a conference or exhibition to showcase your company or are you attending an event?
Do you want to get maximum reach/leads/queries for your business?
During my term as a Marketing Manager for an Irish SaaS company, we had the opportunity to exhibit for an event in Germany.
This was one of the first series of events post covid, so there was a lot of scepticism in terms of the turnout etc, even so, we took the leap of faith to exhibit for the event.
Pro Tip: Ensure you light up your exhibit space with extra lights to ensure they look professional
There is always a limit on the number of people you can meet or engage with at an event space. Be it as an attendee or exhibitor, there are only so many hands you can shake. As a marketer or sales professional attending the event, you will want to maximise this.
We tried a guerrilla-style activity at the event space even though we had an exhibition booth.
The end result was collecting 6 times more leads from the booth walk-ins.
We did this by creating an online campaign - http://bestpowerappsalternative.com/ and promoting it at the venue via QR code handouts and .. ( drum rolls ) .... a walking balloon board.
The logic was even if we had a lot of folks coming down to the booth, the best way to capture more leads or create conversations was by creating a parallel channel for people to discover our product and its use case.
the micro-site with the chatbot did that for us while capturing lead info. The promoter went around handing out small visiting card size print with the QR code and info for participants to engage with us.
P.S: the campaign isn’t live anymore but you can check out the chatbot/microsite here.
Have you done something similar that’s yielded better results? I’d like to hear about them. please leave info or link in the comments
